Christopher Cecil Wright is one of the most successful brokers not only at Edmiston, but in the entire industry. The numbers speak for themselves: since joining Edmiston in 1996 he has been involved in over a billion Euros, and 2000 metres, of sales.
Surprisingly, Chris’s professional life didn’t start in the yachting world. He served for four years in the 1st Queens Dragoon Guards as a Main Battle Tank Troop Leader. It wasn’t until he was recovering from a near-fatal paragliding accident in 1993 that he was introduced to Nicholas Edmiston, then CEO of Camper and Nicholson.
In a seminal career change, Chris became a yacht broker in London for C&N, where he remained until moving to Monaco in 1996 to join Nicholas Edmiston’s new yacht brokerage, Edmiston and Company. Just five years later, in 2001, he was made a director.
During his time at Edmiston, Chris has been instrumental in many high profile sales, including Utopia, the 71.6 metre Feadship, Phoenix, the 61 metre Lurssen, the 51.7 metre Kokomo and the 54.3 metre Tiara (both from Alloy yachts), and most recently 90 metre Lauren L.
In the past 14 years, Edmiston have become world leaders in yachting. Chris has been an integral part of this success, his product knowledge, dynamism and client relationships making him a key figure in the company, well known and well-respected throughout the industry.
